Sawyer Bennett did it again.
This story in the Cold Fury story we get to see Marek in the spotlight.
At the end of Reed and Josie's story you witnessed him running up to New York to stop the wedding between his ex-girlfriend Gracen and Owen Waller; the town's bad boys. On top of stopping the wedding he finds out that he and Gracen had a daughter; a daughter that he was never told about named Lilly.
For the first few chapters you get to see Marek's angst and anger. He's trying to deal with the fact that Gracen kept their daughter a secret while also trying to find a way to talk to the young girl.
Throughout the book you get to see the struggles of Marek coming to terms with the fact that he has a daughter to raise, while trying to get over Gracen's betrayal all while dealing with his attraction to her.
Gracen not only has to deal with the fact that she still loves Marek, but she also has to deal with the man she left at the alter, Owen Waller. The man who is threatening to ruin her parents if she doesn't come back and marry him.
In this book you get to go on an emotional rollercoaster ride with Marek and Gracen as they help each other learn how to deal with hidden demons and co-parent while trying to hide your real feelings for the other parent.
Just like all of Sawyer Bennett's other books, you can't help but cheer for the main characters to come together and feel a sense of peace when they finally find a way to forgive and love one another in the end.
If you love hockey, well written romance, and characters that keep you coming back for more, I highly recommend this book and the rest of the Cold Fury Hockey series.
