Update!

I cannot believe that NaNoWriMo starts in about a month! I am so pumped for it this year. Any amount of writing I get done during the month is great, but I really hope I hit 50,000 words this year.

After my original plot just kept nagging me and wouldn't let me wait on it, I am so happy to have thought of a new plot so quickly. I am usually scrambling around for a plot, so I'm really excited about the fact that I thought of two plots this year.

The thing that is the most exhilarating about NaNoWriMo this year is that I'm dipping my toes into a whole new genre. I have dabbled in LGBT Novels before (Mr. President, which is coming next year is LGBT; if you didn't guess by the cover); but I've never before written about a female LGBT relationship, so this is all new for me.

My novel this year is "The Little Mermaid" and it's a retelling of "The Little Mermaid" in which Ariel is a lesbian and falls for Princess Erika. I'm really excited for trying my hand at this and I hope I do it right for the LGBT community, because if what I'm thinking turns out as great on paper, I hope to have it published next year.

If you participate in NaNoWriMo, feel free to find me and add me as a writing buddy.
